ACCEPTED ITEMS

Our mission is to reduce waste and promote sustainability by finding new uses for old materials. While we accept a wide range of items, we do have guidelines as to what we can and cannot take. Please contact us for more information and to learn how you can get involved in reducing your environmental impact.

Bikes

El Grupo empowers youth through bicycles. Through our afterschool programs, all youth regardless of socioeconomic background develop bike and life skills.

Goodwill logo

GENTLY USED CLOTHING & TEXTILES

Donations are sold or recycled through the Goodwill stores that provide jobs and training for people in our community to gain skills and achieve independence.

These donations support Goodwill of Southern Arizona and individuals involved in the job training programs available.

Pima County Public Library logo

BOOKS
 

Friends of the Pima County Public Library promote literacy and raise funds to enhance library services. Books collected are recirculated in the community to promote love of reading.

Tucson Police Department logo

MEDICATIONS
 

Prescription medications no longer needed are collected and disposed of through the Dispose-a-Med program in partnership with Tucson Police Dept.

Iskashitaa refugee network logo

Iskashitaa Refugee Network is collecting Lanyards, Mason, Kerr, or Ball Canning Jars with or without rings, Garden Tools, and Foreign Language Books.

Beacon secure confidential shredding logo

(3 box limit)

Beacon Secure provides confidential document shredding for Southern Arizona. Paper is recycled.

Still Good! Logo

medical EQUIPMENT​

E-waste, including computer equipment and accessories are recycled, refurbished and re-sold or donated. Computer equipment is wiped and are put in working order.

​

Still Good will also collect medical supplies and equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers, CPAP machines, and wound care products.

Scrap metal collected is recycled to promote a cleaner environment and reduce materials going to landfills.

EYEGLASSES

Eyeglasses donated to the Lions Club are sorted and usable glasses are processed and distributed to optical missions around the world.

Treasures for Teachers will be collecting the following items to be used for hands-on interactive learning materials in the classroom by creative and hardworking teachers.

  • PVC pipe pieces, short or long

  • Shoestrings

  • Sponges, all sizes and shapes

  • Plastic bread clips

  • Pringle cans

  • Quaker (or other brands) Oatmeal containers

Southern Arizona Animal Food Bank

pet food, care and ACCESSORIES

Southern Arizona Animal Food Bank will be collecting the following items to distribute free pet food to low income, unemployed, elderly and otherwise disadvantaged residents of Southern Arizona.
